IPOH: The Ipoh City Council has rejected a proposal by a developer to build a columbarium in Taman Kemuncak here.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Roshidi Hashim  said the council’s 23-member special committee had unanimously decided against the project, after looking at the building concept, objections by residents and views of the various technical departments,

“A study by the Minerals and Geoscience Department found that there was erosion at a limestone hill near the proposed site, thus making it very dangerous to have a building there,” he said after the committee meeting.
