ICW inaugural first-ever Get-Together Dinner

E-mail Print PDF

ICW had its very successful inaugural first-ever Get-Together Dinner on 30 July. 11 tables were booked at the Ipoh City & Country Club, one more than the planned 10 tables. We had to unfortunately turn away many other people who contacted us late for tickets, even non-members who read the announcement about the Dinner on Ipoh Echo (thank you, Ipoh Echo and Col Fathol!). Judging from the support for ICW, perhaps the next dinner should be planned for at least 20 tables.

It must be pointed out that the Dinner was not a fundraiser. As such, the ticket price of RM30 per person all went towards the cost of food. The cost for entertainment that night was borne by kind donors. Everyone enjoyed the entertainment which included belly dancing, Michael Jackson impersonation and saxophone performance. Many prizes were given to winners in a lucky draw. These prizes were also contributed by donors.

Two past Presidents, Col Fathol Zaman Bukhari and Mr Chan Kok Sun, gave some insight into the founding of ICW and past activities during their times. The current President, Mr Augustine Anthony, also gave a rousing speech to exhort more people to join ICW and contribute to the community.

Special mention must go to Mr Ram Naidu (Organizing Chairman), Miss Chong Pek Khoun (ICW Acting Treasurer), Mr Steven Lee (ICW Acting Secretary) and all other ICW Committee Members for their tireless efforts to organize every detail of the Dinner.
