With the new route from Simpang Pulai to Cameron Highlads, the small agricultural village of Kampung Raja is now poised to be the preferred entry point to Cameron Highlands.
This route is now a very popular way to begin the journey to Cameron Highlands. With small Orang Asli villages seemingly perched on hills along this road and many pristine looking streams running parallel to the road, the journey becomes somewhat refreshing indeed.
The journey on this road gives a distinct feeling that a traveller, in an unknowing acts of his own, crawls upon the shoulders of this spectacular looking mountain range that never fails to invite the sporadically visiting clouds from the open sky.
Apart from a few stretches that show the stripped and barren shoulders of this mountain range, overall the lush green vegetation is sure to invite nature lovers to experience this scenic road regularly.
With such a beautiful passage laid for visitors to reach Cameron Highlands, all it takes is, for the local authority in Cameron Highlands to exercise a small degree of creativity to boost this highlands image as a truly inviting tourist attraction amongst the highlands of Malaysia.
For a start, the local authority should rethink how it can design and reshape the entry point to Cameron Highlands at Kampung Raja. Certainly no visitor would like to journey through a stunning and picturesque road only to end up passing by a pile of rubbish at the entrance to any tourist destinations. The cleaning up of the mountain of rubbish at the entry point at Kampung Raja is now an urgent and important task for the local authority to undertake and resolve without any further delay.
