The Orang Asli life is simple yet unique. The forest is not theirs for developments of any sort for commercial gains. It is their ancestors trust upon them to preserve it and cared for it until the next generation is handed down that same responsibility.
Often the forest is preserved in pristine condition by the Orang Asli and they proudly call it their ancestral land. What is taken out of the forest is only what is needed for their sustenance and the rest is kept for the next generation. The Orang Asli take from the forests, only what is needed.
Though it is called their ancestral land, people other than Orang Asli are free to enjoy the beauty and wonders of the forests but with a condition and that is “respect all that is in the forests and do not destroy the forests”.
This picture galley shows all that is beautiful in the forests. Even foreign tourists take trouble to explore these places and marvel at all that is seen in our tropical forests.
Rapid developments that encroach into the Orang Asli ancestral land, logging activities, land clearance for large scale plantations and other developments now threaten not only the Orang Asli culture , heritage and lifestyle but the very existence of these forests.
This picture gallery also shows not only what is beautiful but what will be lost if we do not care for the forests.
Protecting and preserving the forests is our joint responsibility too.
