Barely a day after various blogs published my article Politicians are rats from gutter. And people?, in which I had yearned to see the day in Malaysia, the arrival of the modern day Gurkha in politics, I did not expect that he will come this soon. For a quick recap, for those who understood my article correctly below is what I wrote and the summary (part) of that article is that, politicians should be brave not to allow themselves to succumb to the needs of unscrupulous people (not all Malaysians are unscrupulous though) and their unreasonable demands even in the face of losing the support of these blackmailing people.
“Many politicians are now at the crossroad between personal honesty and the preservation of their political positions but we do need the modern day Gurkhas in politics too, politicians who are brave enough to confront the people and tell them that the country had come to what it is now not because of the misdeeds of the politicians alone but of the misconducts of the people too." And today when I browsed the internet this is what Harakah reported
“ISU KUIL: KHALID SEDIA KALAH PILIHAN RAYA KERANA BERLAKU ADIL
CLICK HERE TO READ MORE: Isu kuil: Khalid sedia kalah kerana berlaku adil
I must add that the Shah Alam temple issue is only one of the many demands that confront the politicians and people in authority in this country.
For Yang Berhormat Khalid Samad , I hope that this message reaches him as an invigorating tonic in this holy Ramadhan month and that other politicians will find strength knowing that this may well be the start of the bold first step in the journey that may take many years, to accomplish the hopes and aspirations of Malaysians who truly love this country.
For those politicians who had previously shown their fortitude in politics, they are always remembered too.
As for Hishamuddin Hussein’s (Dato’ Sri) manner of handling the Shah Alam cowhead (it is actually a bull head) demonstration I can only say “Res Ipsa Loquitur”
